Benin honorably represented at the launch of the Academy of Good Governance and Anti-Corruption Leadership in Côte d'Ivoire

As part of its ongoing commitment to good governance and the fight against corruption, Benin was honorably represented in Yamoussoukro, from April 24 to 25, 2025, by the Office of the High Commissioner for Corruption PreventionHCPC), through the person of Dr Olivier-Charles ATTINDEHOU.

This performance took place on the occasion of the international conference marking the official launch of theAcademy of Good Governance and Anti-Corruption Leadership (ABG-LAC), an ambitious initiative spearheaded by the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire's High Authority for Good Governance (HABG), with the support of its government.

The event, dedicated to sub-regional cooperation, brought together senior officials from member institutions of the West African Network of National Anti-Corruption Institutions (Réseau des Institutions Nationales de Lutte Contre la Corruption de l'Afrique de l'Ouest - RINLCAO). It provided an ideal forum for exchanges on innovative strategies for preventing corruption, promoting integrity and strengthening mechanisms for virtuous governance within member states.

The HCPC 's participation in this high-level event illustrates Benin's firm determination to contribute actively to the construction of a West African space of greater integrity and solidarity, resolutely focused on excellence in public ethics.

High-level training leading to certification

Following this launch ceremony, Dr. Olivier-Charles ATTINDEHOU also took part in a certification training session on preventing and fighting corruption, held from April 26 to 30, 2025 in Yamoussoukro. Co-hosted by theInternational Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) andABG-LAC, this session brought together executives from several African institutions involved in the fight against corruption.

It enabled participants to enhance their practical skills, deepen their theoretical knowledge, and learn about comparative approaches to governance and transparency.
The training also provided an opportunity to forge operational synergies between sister institutions in the sub-region, with a view to a more coherent, concerted and effective fight against corrupt practices.

A renewed commitment from Benin

Through this double participation, the Office of the High Commissioner for Corruption Prevention (HCPC) reaffirms Benin's commitment to remain a major player in regional dynamics promoting integrity, ethical leadership and sustainable development based on the principles of accountability and social justice.
