A training session on financial investigation is currently being held in Abuja, Nigeria, from April 7 to 11, 2025, as part of a program to build the capacity of national anti-corruption institutions in West Africa. This initiative is being carried out by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), in collaboration with the RINCLAO Academy of Excellence (EFCC Academy), part of the Network of National Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (RINCLAO).
Benin is taking part in this session in the person of Dr Olivier-Charles ATTINDEHOU, Secretary General of the Office of the High Commissioner for Corruption PreventionHCPC). His participation testifies to Benin's ongoing commitment to regional cooperation and the development of specialized technical skills in the fight against illicit financial flows, money laundering and other forms of economic crime.
This training aims to equip representatives of RINCLAO member institutions with modern financial investigation techniques, with particular emphasis on financial data analysis, flow traceability and inter-agency cooperation. It is part of a drive to pool efforts and harmonize approaches within the ECOWAS region.
The HCPC intends to capitalize on this training to improve its interventions and further assert its role within RINCLAO.
